Bergamot FCF Free Organic Essential Oil

Our organic Bergamot Oil, FCF (Bergapten-Free), also called Bergapten-Free (BPF) Bergamot Oil is a welcome alternative to our regular Bergamot Essential Oil for use in skin care, or anywhere photosensitivity created by regular Bergamot Oil would be a concern. FCF (furanocoumarin-free) is an acronym used to indicate that the chemical compounds responsible for extreme sensitization of the skin to sunlight has been removed. In the case of Bergamot oil, the specific furanocoumarin is Bergapten. This allows the Bergamot Oil, FCF to be used in skin and hair care formulations without worrying about sun exposure after use.

More than just offering a familiar scent or flavor, Bergamot Oil is bursting with a powerhouse of benefits. Although its roots can be traced back to South East Asia, Bergamot was more widely cultivated in Southern Italy, specifically in the coastal regions of Reggio di Calabria and Sicily. As a matter of fact, Bergamot was named after the city of Bergamo in Lombardy, Italy, where it was originally sold.

AROMATHERAPY

Bergamot Essential Oil is considered excellent for both mental and physical healing and wellbeing. It helps to reduce pain and inflammation, minimize uninvited bacterial or fungal activity, and ease muscle spasms. It has very powerful uplifting and restorative properties and is unique in that it can be both uplifting and calming at the same time, reducing nervous tension and negative emotions.

COSMETICS

Bergamot is one of the most commonly used essential oils in perfumery for its sweet freshness where it adds a rich top note, especially in Eau de Cologne types producing an initial 'fresh fragrance' impression. It is also the legendary flavor and perfume of Earl Grey tea. It is clarifying and cleansing for the skin, and has been found to soothe skin complaints such as eczema and psoriasis, so a good option for cosmetics uses*

Our pleasantly fresh and uplifting Bergamot Oil has a cooling, refreshing, sweet and balanced blend of citrus and green notes with a light floral and bitter undertones.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Apply Topically: Our Single Essential Oils and Blends are 100% pure and undiluted. To apply to the skin, dilute with a high-quality Carrier Oil and use in an easy to apply roller bottle. For a guide on how much to use, see our dilution chart here. 

Diffuse & Inhale: Breathe in your favorite essential oils using an essential oil diffuser or apply to your wrists and inhale. You can also add a few drops to your hands and form a 'tent' over your nose and inhale. A great way to diffuse when you are on the go is to use diffuser jewellery or a car diffuser.
