Fractionated coconut oil is an excellent choice as a carrier oil because it has a low molecular weight, making it very easy for it to soak deep into your skin. Plus, it's packed with saturated fats that keep your skin moisturized and help give you a smooth, even complexion.

Coconut oil also has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antimicrobial properties, which means it is a good choice for soothing skin problems like acne, eczema, and cold sores.

It is also totally fragrance free, so doesn't not interfere with your essential oil aroma and is a very stable oil, lasting at room temperature for up to 2 years.

Carrier oils are used in aromatherapy to dilute essential oils before applying them topically to the skin. Essential oils evaporate quickly, using them with carriers slows down the evaporation process so they have time to absorb.
