Frankincense Organic Essential Oil

Our powerful blend of the essential oils from 3 Frankincense tree species, namely Frankincense Sacra (Sacred Frankincense), Frankincense Serrata and Frankincense Carterii gives you access to the full variety of benefits from this miraculous resin.

The essential oils are hydro distilled from the resinous dried sap of Boswellia sacra trees native to Oman, (an historic region known for producing premium quality Frankincense Oil), Boswellia serrata trees growing wild in the forests of India and the most well know species Boswellia carterii trees, growing wild in the rural landscape of Somaliland. 

The lightly colored, greenish-hued Boswellia sacra resin is carefully harvested from trees in Oman, where only a few distillers have permission from the royal family to work with the Royal Hojari resin, as it is known locally. Also referred to as Sacred Frankincense, Boswellia Sacra Oil is used as a spiritual aid in ritual, prayer, and meditation.

It is believed that being the oldest documented Frankincense, Frankincense Serrata may be the Frankincense referred to in the Bible and Ayurvedic medicine. Frankincense Serrata is high in natural constituents belonging to the monoterpenes chemical family like alpha thujene, alpha-pinene, and limonene, making it a powerful antiseptic, decongestant, and anti-inflammatory agent.

The resin of Boswellia carterii contains high levels of soothing compounds, referred to as boswellic acids. These compounds have been found to enhance overall comfort and ease in our bodies and joints, as well as for the health and beauty of our skin.

Each and every batch of Amala essential oils is tested by an independent international laboratory before being sent to us. A Certificate of Analysis is issued, stating the purity of the oil.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Apply Topically: Our Single Essential Oils and Blends are 100% pure and undiluted. To apply to the skin, dilute with a high-quality Carrier Oil and use in an easy to apply roller bottle. For a guide on how much to use, see our dilution chart here. 

Diffuse & Inhale: Breathe in your favorite essential oils using an essential oil diffuser or apply to your wrists and inhale. You can also add a few drops to your hands and form a 'tent' over your nose and inhale. A great way to diffuse when you are on the go is to use diffuser jewellery or a car diffuser.

Do not use internally unless instructed by a licensed aromatherapist or physician. Essential oils are highly concentrated and powerful oils and can cause serious harm if ingested without the necessary expertise required - for this reason, ingestion of essential oils is NOT recommended.
