Our 100% organic Lime Essential Oil, also called Key Lime Essential Oil is cold pressed from the fresh, tart, green rinds of the Citrus aurantifolia fruits cultivated in the sun-kissed orchards of Italy. Our Lime Oil has a particularly bright, zesty, tart, slightly sweet aroma.

Unlike the commercially available Lime Oils which are considered to be highly photo-sensitizing, our Cold Pressed Lime Essential Oil is non-phototoxic and appropriate for use in skin care, or anywhere photosensitivity would be a concern.

Each and every batch of Amala essential oils is tested by an independent international laboratory before being sent to us. A Certificate of Analysis is issued, stating the purity of the oil.

REPORTED BENEFITS AND USES

AROMATHERAPY

Fresh, tangy and fragrantly emphatic, Lime Essential Oil shares much of its therapeutic profile with its citrus cousin, Lemon, and has many of the same astringent, toning and mood elevating properties.  Lime Essential Oil is known to uplift those who are feeling mentally exhausted and depressed. It has also been seen to raise spirits and provide new energy to those feeling drained and fatigued. Lime Essential Oil has been seen to help combat rheumatism, arthritis, poor circulation, and cellulite. It is also highly valued for its ability to assist with inflammatory conditions.

COSMETICS

Key Lime Oil is frequently used in facial and body cleansers for its purifying properties and uplifting scent. When applied topically, certain benefits of Lime Essential Oil are known to clear blocked pores and cleanse oily prone skin and this in fact, makes it one of the best essential oils for acne. Lime Essential Oil can help promote a youthful appearance, diminishing the appearance of fine lines, patchy pigmentation and loss of elasticity. Lime has a tightening effect, making it perfect to use to help rejuvenate your skin. Lime Oil in hair care products help boost shine, by allowing the outer layer of the hair strand, the cuticle, lay flat and reflect more light.

Unlike the commercially available Lime Oils which are considered to be highly photo-sensitizing, ours Cold Pressed Lime Essential Oil is non-phototoxic and appropriate for use in skin care, or anywhere photosensitivity would be a concern.

EMOTIONALLY & ENERGETICALLY

In aromatherapy, the refreshing yet not-too-sweet properties of Key Lime Essential Oil can assist with enhancing mental clarity and alertness and can also promote feelings of positivity, calm and harmony. It is often used in blends with other cleansing and uplifting oils for more freshening power and a boost in emotional balance and well-being. Lime Essential Oil also works effectively against mosquitoes and bugs, because these buzzing annoyances react negatively to citrus scents and stay away from places where they smell these scents.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Apply Topically: Our Single Essential Oils and Blends are 100% pure and undiluted. To apply to the skin, dilute with a high-quality Carrier Oil and use in an easy to apply roller bottle. For a guide on how much to use, see our dilution chart here

Diffuse & Inhale: Breathe in your favorite essential oils using an essential oil diffuser or apply to your wrists and inhale. You can also add a few drops to your hands and form a 'tent' over your nose and inhale. A great way to diffuse when you are on the go is to use diffuser jewellery or a car diffuser.

SAFETY

Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant or under a doctor’s care, consult a physician. Avoid contact with eyes.

Do not use internally unless instructed by a licensed aromatherapist or physician. Essential oils are highly concentrated and powerful oils and can cause serious harm if ingested without the necessary expertise required - for this reason, ingestion of essential oils is NOT recommended.

We do not recommend using essential oils on pets, unless under the care of a veterinarian or aromatherapist.
