Our organically crafted Niaouli Essential Oil is steam distilled from the grey-green leaves of Melaleuca quinquenervia, a resilient tree growing here in sunny South Africa.

This particular oil is the 1,8-Cineole chemotype, giving it a fresh, gently camphoraceous aroma with soft earthy, fruity, and lemony notes. While closely related to Tea Tree, Niaouli offers similar therapeutic benefits with a sweeter, smoother scent and a lower likelihood of irritating sensitive skin.

Because of its more pleasant aroma, Niaouli is often preferred when Tea Tree’s strong medicinal scent feels too harsh, particularly in respiratory and skincare blends.

Respiratory & Immune Support
Niaouli is especially valued for supporting healthy lungs and airways. Its clarifying aroma makes it an excellent choice for diffusion during times of sinus congestion or seasonal respiratory discomfort.

Skin Care & Cleansing
With strong antimicrobial and purifying properties, Niaouli helps cleanse and rejuvenate the skin. It can be beneficial for supporting troubled skin, including acne, minor cuts, burns, and blemishes. Often described as a gentler alternative to Tea Tree, it works particularly well for sensitive or reactive skin.

Body & Wellness Support
Niaouli may help soothe minor aches and muscle tension and can be a supportive addition to blends designed for joint or muscle discomfort. Traditionally, it has also been used to support digestive comfort when dealing with gas, cramps, or mild stomach upset.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Apply Topically: Our Single Essential Oils and Blends are 100% pure and undiluted. To apply to the skin, dilute with a high-quality Carrier Oil and use in an easy to apply roller bottle. For a guide on how much to use, see our dilution chart here. 

Diffuse & Inhale: Breathe in your favorite essential oils using an essential oil diffuser or apply to your wrists and inhale. You can also add a few drops to your hands and form a 'tent' over your nose and inhale. A great way to diffuse when you are on the go is to use diffuser jewellery or a car diffuser.
